Germinal is proud to sponsor Sustainable Dairy Grassland Manager of the Year at the 2025 National Dairy Awards on Thursday 19th June at the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise.

We are committed to recognising and promoting excellence in sustainable grassland management. This award celebrates dairy farmers who are succeeding with environmentally responsible grassland practices that encourage more efficient production while also inspiring others in the industry.

Sustainable farmers leading the way

In 2023, we celebrated the success of Niall Moloney, whose approach to sustainable dairy farming stood out. Niall has integrated white and red clover into his system, significantly reducing artificial nitrogen use while maintaining high-quality forage production.

Last year’s winner Martin Ryan has embraced multi-species swards to improve resilience in dry conditions while also lowering nitrogen applications on his Tipperary farm. Martin’s approach demonstrates a practical and sustainable way forward for dairy farming.
