      Berseem clover

      Berseem clover seed produces a short-term annual legume that is also referred to as Egyptian clover.

      Berseem clover seed can establish quickly and produce biomass when sown at suitable temperatures.

      As a cover crop, Berseem clover can be used as soil-improving green manure. Some work has shown that it can be used as a companion crop in oilseed rape.

      ACRES Scheme

      • For ACRES, a mixture of at least two crops from the prescribed list must be sown
      • Berseem clover cover crops must remain in place until after 1 January
